Winery in Nemea
The history of the estate began in the mid-1990s in the wider Nemea region, and more specifically in the village of Leonti. The founder of the business, Ioannis Drainá, decided to take the important step of dedicating himself to cultivating the land and producing wine, building upon the family vineyards that had been cultivated for generations.
He established a modern winery within the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Nemea zone — a family-owned winery in complete harmony with nature.
Today, the family legacy continues through his son, Christos Drainá, who is now responsible for the business and is dedicated to producing high-quality wines through a modern approach to winemaking.

Mediterranean Climate

The estate has approximately 100 acres of privately owned vineyards, located in the mountainous region of Corinthia at an altitude of 300–400 meters, approximately 50 km from Corinth.
The climate is Mediterranean, with no extreme heatwaves, thanks to the altitude and the influence of the prevailing northern and northeastern winds.

The well-drained soil, abundant sunshine, and favorable microclimate ensure early ripening and the excellent maturation of high-quality grapes, with an exceptional balance of sugars, acidity, and aromas. A climate characterized by cool nights and gently warm days allows the grapes to enjoy a long and gradual ripening period.
These conditions are ideal for cultivating our main grape variety, Agiorgitiko, as well as other varieties such as Assyrtiko, Malagousia, and Roditis. |
